I’m surprised septic near waterfront is still a problem in King County. I remember Kitsap County testing systems about 30 years ago. Not sure what they did when they found an issue back then.

The Northgate Apartments have been a fascinating drama that has played out for years, since 1986 that I remember.

The bottom line is that 207 low income apartments will be replaced with over 2000 rental units.

John Fox who is now an affordable housing advocate has fought to keep land owners from demolishing obsolete housing units in favor of newer buildings since the 1970s.

You can help me with the math on this because math isn’t my strong suit, but if we keep tearing down duplexes to build six town homes, and tearing down 207 rental units to put in over 2000, doesn’t that add up to a lot of housing units?

How does that work for the supply, and demand theories?

I say we let land owners over develop the heck out of in city density, and let rents fall where they may, or will.

RE: Blurtman @ 3 – Why not? Doesn’t everyone dream about buying a place in the sun and paying 5 times what they should have been paying?
