Has anyone looked at Element Townhomes in Redmond? I'm seriously contemplating about buying here. If anyone has any opinion, please share that.

They at least have interesting postmodern architecture, but I don't know how good the value is.

If I were you I would be concerned about the following:

a) No prices on the website. Are they trying to hide something or just incompetent?
b) No square footage on the website for plans either. Trying to hide something here too, or incompetent as well?
b) They link to http://www.righttimetobuy.org/, which appears to be a propoganda website devoted to telling people that buying real estate right now will result in it going up in value. Even die hard real estate folks know that is rubbish.

Personally, it appears that they don't know how to do basic things right. They look like they would be one of the first to go down when the builders go out of business to me.

You should buy it, and join the dark side of the Force.

Are you expecting a breakdown of this particular condo from us to conclude whether or not this was a worthy buy? Seriously, what's with the stupid questions?

Relo, I'm not familiar with the Element Townhomes, but if you want to buy there, go ahead, but are you expecting folks here to tell you what a good deal it is?

I'm not sure that if you found a townhouse in Medina for 15,000 dollars you wouldn't hear things like " it's still too expensive, it shouldn't cost more than three months rent."

Completely ignoring the bubble for a moment, my opinion is that I wouldn't buy a new anything, esp. not on a highway, except for a deep discount relative to older, way better construction. But it's not going to be discounted anytime soon, so why bother contemplating?

Yeah no kidding on the location. Have you spent much time in that area? Redmond Way is a pretty busy road, and these particular townhomes aren't really "walking distance" from jack.

All the downsides of condo living, without the benefits!

The finish work looks somewhat good, the floor plans are a metrosexual idea of deco.

Thanks to all the replies. I decided to wait few more months.

That's the spirit! You'll probably save ~$2K per month by waiting.

If I was a homebuyer in that price range (let's say $400K), I'd wait to buy today's $400K house (not a townhouse or condo) for whatever its price at the bottom is, let's say $300K. Then I'd hire an architect and judiciously spend $100K or whatever to update it. Instead of a poor-quality townhouse on a highway, I'd have a better-quality house with land in a more private location. Hopefully I wouldn't have to wait too many years.
