Mortgage brokers saw it coming

I have a friend who worked as a mortgage broker salesperson in another state over a year ago. She quit after a few months (and wouldn't talk about the reason for quitting) but she keeps in touch with people at the company.
She said that over the last month the sales people there have been having a lot of trouble finding lenders who were willing to fund and close on their clients mortgages. They saw this coming at least a month ahead of time. And if the mortgage brokers saw it coming you can be sure the real estate agents saw it coming.
Then on RCG they are all like, "We never saw this coming. We wouldn't guide our clients into something bad. We have our clients' best interests at heart."
