What happened to quoting feature?

I can't seem to figure out how do easily do quotes with the re-designed forum anymore. Has the option to choose to quote (and respond) to an earlier post disappeared? Now I find I have to resort to a lot of messy cutting and pasting to do any quotes.

Ok, I have now figured out what the original issue is. It turns out you have to be logged in to see the "quote" option. Worse, if you choose to login once you are already browsing a particular thread you wish to comment on, the login will take you all the way back to the main topics page and you have to drill-down again.
The quote feature used to work differently, allowing you to click on the "quote" button even if you weren't logged in, and then it would ask you to login, and take you right to the comment page.
Is there any way we could get this simpler quote functionality back?

If you can't find an easier solution, it's easy to always be logged in. When you log in, check the login automatically button.
Another advantage of this topics which have been updated since the last time you read them (or are new) will be highlighted. That way you don't need to look through every topic's last updated time just to see what's new.
