Thanking your congress-person

I just wanted to suggest to everybody on this forum, that - if your congress-person voted against the bailout - now would be an excellent time to write them a letter of thanks.

It's good to write with how angry you are over the bailout vote, but it's even better to write back and say how thankful you are that it didn't pass. This type of encouragement will help steel the resolve of those congress-persons who are trustworthy and ethical. After all, a pat on the head is usually more successful than a spanking.

Good idea RCC...will do. We have to keep the heat on (or reward them for really representing US) so politicians don't flip flop when the WS maggots try to cram it down our throats again....and again.

Stupid question time.

Does Congress (or the President) really do anything between election day and the middle of January? Could a bunch of lame ducks pass a bill after knowing the outcome of the election? I would think that any GOP seat that was lost would vote for a bailout (since they're no longer accountable for it), and Democrats would be more in favor of it since it'd be long forgotten before the next election.

Yep, that's exactly what the last paragraph of my previous post posited. Who's to stop lame ducks from doing crazy illegal stuff. Like how a number of Bush's criminal friends will be granted amnesty between now and the new year...just like how Clinton's friends had it.
