"Eddie Bauer Inc. said Thursday it would eliminate 193 positions companywide, including 71 at its Bellevue headquarters. Also Thursday, the state Employment Security Department reported that Allied Waste intends to cut 203 workers, effective March 31."

"Eddie Bauer also announced it would reduce its board of directors from 10 to seven members and would lower board compensation for remaining members by 50 percent. CEO Neil Fiske has cut his salary by 10 percent for the rest of the year."
