Yahoo to reject Microsoft bid

I hope msft doesnt up the bid to more than $40 for yhoo.

More than likely, they will. They are desperately trying to find a way to compete against GOOG who is kicking their butt left and right. In their minds, purchasing YHOO gets them....uhh......

Well, that's besides the point. Investing most of your available cash into a struggling company to try and become the search engine leader is a fantasy, IMO. This is Google's fight to lose.

I just wonder how long the MSFT shareholders will sit by and watch their paper wealth decrease while Ballmer pursues this.

This move by Yahoo may have just saved Microsoft's long-term bacon. Unless of course - as other's said - this is just Yahoo making it clear that MSFT will need to up the ante a little more.

How much cash does MSFT have on hand? Yahoo might not be interested in being bought out, perhaps they would prefer a more equal merger.
