Yeah, I think there's a really good chance we'll see some Tim McVeighs.

Hilarious. Bizarro-Hitler (no army, spends his time hugging Jews, fighting for European peace, and had his ass handed to him by France).

Also, the republican party feels a lot closer to self-immolation today than it did a week ago - at least to me.

DeMint said. "His proposal for amnesty for illegals. His support of global warming, cap-and-trade programs that will put another burden on our economy. And of course, his embrace of the bailout right before the election was probably the nail in our coffin this last election. And he has been an opponent of drilling in ANWR, at a time when energy is so important. It really didn't fit the label, but he was our package."

So, let me get this straight. McCain's rejection of some of the right's most dumbass positions has damaged the republican brand? I'm having a hard idea thinking of anything else that might damage the republican brand more if they are becoming this absurd.

I suppose, just off the cuff, if a broad group of republicans started to declare their own president elect was Hitler #2 months before he even took office. I mean, doing so might make you look pretty unpatriotic and dare I say unamerican. Almost like you are a fake American.

Final thought

"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross."

Attributed to Sinclair Lewis, whose 1935 novel, It Can't Happen Here, dealt with the rise of a right-wing dictatorship in America

After all, Obama rhymes with Hitler. Right?

Last mention of Hitler, today 09/08/2008.

As it turns out, it was Obama's followers that reminded me of Hitler's followers. As Obama has exercised his position, he is clearly more like Mussolini.

BTW, I think I mentioned that I bought a small farm with a new home on it in central Kentucky on a handshake just two weeks before Obama was elected. I closed In August the next year (owner had to do the two year wait) and leased back to the owner for a while.

I finally left T-Mobile and moved out here last summer. Interestingly, the Seattle guy I most respected on freerepublic and I just touched base over the weekend. Would you believe he moved this summer to a small town on the SC coast for the same reason? The economy took longer to go down than I expected, and is looking to get as bad as, back in 2007, I considered to be a worst case scenario. Who knew just how much government atrocities would happen between then and now.

Meanwhile, I love having to chase groups of large wild turkeys out of my way as I drive down my driveway. They are quite delicious too. The longer we are here, the more we like it. There is also an area of Louisville called "The Highlands" that is a mishmash of Capitol Hill, Freemont and the U-district in one place, only a lot cleaner and not a bunch of liberal whackjobs running around. Their motto there is "Keep Louisville wierd" and they are. They have a couple of record/head shops that outdo anything Seattle has to offer.

But the bottom line is that, as I finish my 40x80x14 building (oh, and you don't need a building permit here if it is not a house!) in preparation for when the SHTF, I have a place to move my three daughters who all currently live in various condos in downtown Seattle.

BTW, after Obama's election I went all in to silver, gold and lead. The latter with a copper jacket. Turned out to be prudent.

And yeah, this is sort of an "I told you so" post. Let those with wisdom act on what they hear and read. The internet will serve you well. The MSM will serve you poorly.

One more Hitler reference. I'm just curious if this thread will need to be renamed after Obama is elected. Will Nazi comparisons no longer be strong enough? Will this have to become the Robroy Antichrist Countdown?

:|

Funny you mention that. In my conversations with people regarding Obama, at least three have of their own accord, wondered out loud if he is the antichrist. I tell them all the same thing and have since late 2009: Either he IS the antichrist, and it'll take God to bring him down, or he is the most embarrassing presidency through which the American people have been forced to suffer and he will not finish his term.

You think things are bad for him now? Wait'll next summer, if he's even still in office then.

Mussolini had a political/economic theory called fascism. Painting fascism with broad brush strokes, he wanted to merge government and industry in a way that he believed would stand for a thousand years.

Therefore, all of this government privitization of banks is a step towards fascism.

Therefore the current government is like one of Hitler's partners.

And then there was GM and Chrysler. But I state the obvious. I just noticed that most of the guys on this thread and the hilarious Global Warming threads have not posted here for a year or more. Maybe they are busy, like I was (and still am,actually...).
