The closest one to you that I can vouch for is , up on Aurora near the county line. Fantastic east-coast style sandwiches. If you like garlic, you will go back every week. Saturday nights they have bands, but the reservation list is several weeks long. Great, family owned and operated establishment.

Now that I have sandwiches on my brain, I'll also recommend the , on Ballard Ave in oldtown. Huge, very tasty subs.

and finally, downtown on 1st, we have . If you are actually from Buffalo (as I am), the Beef on Weck brings back a touch of home, but all the food is great, and they also have a delicious Matzaball soup.

Now all I can think of is sandwiches, so that's all you get. Oh yeah - a New York Pizza Place on 5th in Maple Leaf has the only passable Chicken Parmesan Hero in town (I ate there tonight, in fact. If my wife doesn't come home soon, I'm eating her half.).

Lunch at PCC Natural Markets | Redmond PCC
Healthy choices to eat there or take with you.

Dinner at Pomegranate Bistro 18005 NE 68th St Redmond
Very relaxing with an interesting menu from caterer Lisa Dupar.

Circa and the Mission in West Seattle...both have reasonable prices and are on California. Pricier (but good) is Beato.

The best Thai food is at Indochine in Federal Way off of Pacific Hwy South just north of 320th.

Downtown, we used to go to Two Dagos from Texas...but sadly they're long gone.

We really don't go out much since we have 3 kids and I love to cook (or dirty up the kitchen).

Thai Tom in Seattle is great (and by "great" I mean awesome). I think it's just $.
XXX in Issaquah. Greasy burgers and homemade rootbeer. It's given me the runs every time I've eaten there. $
Burgermaster in Bellevue (they have 4 other locations around the area). It's a drive-in. Their Turkeymaster is great among other things. $
Pogacha in Bellevue and Issaquah. Croatian food. $-$$ I think, haven't been there in a while now that I think about it.
Firenze Ristorante in Bellevue. Good Italian. Also, we got a free meal once when the owner's father-in-law thought our baby was too cute. $-$$
Remember, if you rent it's not a home, it's a hovel.

The Red House in downtown Renton has amazing food, and the largest selection of wine and beer of just about any restaurant I've been to,

Tuna House in Bellevue. Best sushi I've ever had, hands down.

Sushi!

$ - SushiLand (multiple locations), aka ghetto sushi. I eat a LOT of sushi and rarely get over $15.

$$ - Warabi (Aurora/137th). Good fish, never crowded.
$$ - Sushi Zen (mill creek). Better fish than Warabi, but always crowded.

$$$ - Mashiko (West Seattle). Unique offerings, always good fish, usually crowded with so-so service.

$$$$ - Wasabi Bistro (Belltown). Epic nigiri and sashimi, lousy service. Probably $$$ for most people, but I rarely escape for less than $50-75. :D

I'm not very picky about other stuff...

I love sandwiches.
The Other Coast for your standard sammich. (Oh God the Rajin Cajun' is amazing.)
And Paseo's if you're feeling the pork.
Both relatively expensive sandwiches (7-10 bucks) but still just one $ I guess.

I'm really looking for a good Pizza place. I used to work at one so I guess I'm a bit of a snob, but I'm still out there searching. I'm a thick crust guy, and so far Zeeks is my favorite, although Soprano's in Ballard is pretty decent and close to where I live. I also liked Olympic pizza during my Queen Anne days. I went to Northlake Tavern the other week and was unimpressed. An abundance of toppings doesn't do it for me; it just leaves things feeling undercooked.

best Thai: 1st and columbia just west of 1st on the north side of the road. The food is phenominal AND everything is six bucks, INCLUDING TAX.

For lunch there is always a line there, but when I consulted downtown I ordered off their web site. It took me ten minutes to walk there and I walked past the line, plunked down my six bucks, and they handed me the bag...

It is the ONE thing I miss about working downtown.

Well, that and entertaining myself watching the motorcycle cops pull over cars by the dozen on third avenue...
