Areas where housing market good still

Postby JasonPhelps » Tue Jun 17, 2008 9:31 am

I know the housing market for buyers is pretty good in Bonney Lake and South Prairie areas because sellers are having to lower their prices due to lack of people buying. I think houses around big towns like Seattle and Bellevue are always more expensive than when you get out a little bit.

Ok? I know the sky is blue and Seattle rains a lot.

I expect Orting to get decimated. That has to be a terrible commute -- 167 would be bad enough, but that two lane drive to Sumner must be murder -- and it has been extremely overbuilt with cookie cutter house after cookie cutter house on postage stamp lots. I don't know what people were thinking buying out there.

Maple Valley is in for a world of hurt too, I suspect, but it's a little closer in so probably not quite as much. Orting will be the poster child for outlying areas collapsing IMO.

In Orting there's also the disadvantage of a lahar possibly wiping you out.
