While it's generally wise to remain open minded (it's always possible Sasquatches are real), the gentlemen who claim to have found it have a history of making up stories for publicity. Given that situation, I think it's irresponsible for national media to make this headline news.

I know you already posted the hoax info. Actually, the photo I saw online made it look really obvious it was fake.

Anyways, the point is that if someone respectable, even if they were unknowns, said they had Big Foot it might be worth publishing (after doing a little actual investigation). These hucksters have proliferated repeated hoaxes and they have a financial motivation for this most recent hoax as well (I believe he has a book coming out or something). It's just plain irresponsible for the MSM to give these guys the publicity they want without doing even a google's search worth of due-diligence.

I agree. It was just a subject of "water-cooler" conversation today. I was just having a little fun.

I also did note that the legitimate bigfoot investigators are a bit pissed because of the media coverage this incident is getting, and rightfully so, I think.

Considering the fact that the “original” UFO sitings occurred near Mount Rainier and that the Sasquatch legend is rooted in the Pacific Northwest maybe there is something to be said about the lack of sunshine and delusional experiences. For now, keeping an open mind is probably the best course of action.

Georgia men defend Bigfoot body claims
.
• STORY HIGHLIGHTS
• North Georgia men say they stumbled upon body while hiking in forest
• They also claim to have spotted three similar living creatures
• The body of the furry half man-half ape is 7 feet, 7 inches tall, they say
• Men won't reveal Bigfoot den's location because they don't want others disturbed

Kenneth A. Arnold (born March 29, 1915 in Sebeka, Minnesota; died January 16, 1984 in Bellevue, Washington) was an American businessman and pilot.
.
He is best-known for making what is generally considered the first widely reported unidentified flying object sighting in the United States, after claiming to see nine unusual objects flying in a chain near Mount Rainier, Washington on June 24, 1947. Arnold described the objects' shape as resembling a flat saucer or disc, and also described their erratic motion as resembling a saucer skipped across water; from this, the press quickly coining the new terms "flying saucer" and "flying disc" to describe such objects, many of which were reported within days after Arnold's sighting……

Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is an alleged ape-like creature said to inhabit remote forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States and Canada. Bigfoot is sometimes described as a large, hairy bipedal hominoid, and some believe that this animal, or its close relatives, may be found around the world under different regional names, such as the Yeti of Tibet and Nepal, the Yeren of mainland China, the Orang Pendek of Indonesia, and the Yowie of Australia.
.
Bigfoot is one of the more famous examples of cryptozoology, with an ongoing debate on whether it exists or not. Most scientific experts on the matter consider the Bigfoot legend to be a combination of folklore and hoaxes…..

Maybe PNW people are categorically delusional. That would explain the belief that Seattle is immune from the real estate depreciation trend that is affecting the rest of the country?

Post Re: Bigfoot
I am willing to bet my tiny life savings that nothing weighing over 100 pounds exists on land in the US that hasn't already been scientifically documented/classified. Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, etc. simply do not exist. Humans have spread much too far into their supposed territory for us to have not captured or seen a dead specimen. These things are supposed to be 7-8 feet tall...don't you think it is impossible to escape detection for this long?

Unless they are now extinct - which means that the only logical conclusion is that global warming is at fault. Global warming is to blame for everything.
