Yahoo seems pretty conservative in their declarations, which is good IMO. As of right now they have

* Obama: 78 - VT, ME, MA, CT, NJ, DE, MD, DC, IL
* McCain: 34 - OK, KY, TN, SC

Florida is also leaning heavily Obama, 54% / 46% with 23% reporting.

OK, what the hell... Both Harris (Houston) and Dallas (Dallas/Fort Worth) counties are showing HUGE advantages for Obama... 60/40 in Dallas with 500k votes and 54/45 in Houston with 700k votes.

But it still shows 0% reported, so I'm assuming this is the early vote tally.

Not to mention that Indiana, Virginia, N. Carolina, and Florida are all still wide open to swing Obama.

I'm sure he'll find a way to blame those two black guys with the one nightstick for stealing McCain's blowout victory and turning it into a slobberknocker loss.

As of right now, my morning prediction that McCain would not win 200 EC votes is still at risk. If he sweeps all uncalled states, he could wring 205 votes out.

More likely though, he won't even get close to that. Obama likely takes every legitimate toss-up state, and we can peaceably move on. Has anyone else heard that most of our foreign allies were also favoring Obama 3-1?

I think there are two lasting stories from this election : America's return to being a partner on the world stage, and the exit of Baby Boomers from holding the reigns. I welcome them both.

I can't even tell you how thrilled I am right now. I thought he would win, but I didn't think it would be this big.

I'm sure Robroy is writing his manifesto as we speak.

For what's left, Alaska and Missouri will go McCain. I think Indiana, Montana and NC will go Obama though.

The riots on the way home from Bellevue were rough. I made it through, barely.


Honestly, this night has really been bizarre. Last year I had a dream (one in your sleep) that I moved back to Indiana and was the election chairman for Hillary Clinton in the state, and "I" won the state for her, flipping Indiana's 11 EVs, and along with CO, she won the election 272-266. I woke up and thought "that's the most absurd dream I've ever had... there's no way in hell a Democrat can win in Indiana".

Who knew.

Robroy, after this morning I honestly thought you had gone bats**t crazy, but likewise I hold no ill will. I hope the move to Kentucky pans out for you; you're moving to a very nice place with, as you noted, some absolutely fantastic roads. If you're looking for somewhere to get away from it all, have some space, it's hard to beat.
