There was a very nice master bath where it had a feature where there was a tv that you could watch while you were in the tub. I guess to prevent moisture damage to the tv, it was located in a closet and you saw the tv through the main mirror, which was one-way glass so when the tv was off it was a normal mirror. There was a house in the 2006 Street of Materialistic Dreams (which was in Sammamish) that had a feature like that. I don't remember which one for sure, but I'd guess it was "The Retreat," which had TVs jammed into pretty much every possible space--17 in all.

Those guys were so on key with their street of dreams. I mean, who today doesn't need a retreat from their hectic lives to a home where every room has a TV roaring on a different channel than the last. Is the street of dreams dead? I can only imagine them doing a 2009 version where some of the homes are actually just 800 sq ft repartmented condos, others are 1500 sq ft with 4 bedrooms, and the newest homes are actually just cardboard boxes under bridges with holes cut out for 'windows'. The sad thing about the cardboard 'homes' is you used to be able to get larger boxes when people were still upgrading their refrigerators and washing machines - not so much anymore.

 Re: Detrimental Listing Photos
Somebody just posted a link to this one on the blog and this picture really stood out to me: 8616 137th Ave SE Newcastle, WA 98059 I'm not sure what I like best, the half-full glass of water on the counter, the open drawers, or the eerie glow the whole room seems to have. Also, do you really need that many outlets / light switches in a kitchen? Yowzers.

It combines the granite/stainless look and the dark/damp PNW look. But put me down for lots of outlets in the kitchen. They don't need to be white outlet covers though. They sell boxes of tinted covers at HD.

Perhaps just lousy photo quality, or is this part of the required "finishing touches"?

I shake my head with pity at the unfortunate masses that buy into "Watching TV". I prefer bird watching.

Some turret. There isn't even a hole to pour boiling oil out of. Looks more a like a grain silo to me.

Re: Link: 10532 35th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98125 Holy frickin' crap! $3500/yr property taxes for a (moldy) chipboard shell that's not even remotely livable??? Taxpayers REVOLT! Man the battle stations! Arrrrggggghhhhh! If anything, this listing perfectly illustrates how far prices need to fall in order to get back to reality. And don't even get me started on the property taxes, sheesh!
