breaking into the business
I've recently moved to Seattle and hope to shift from city planning/map-making work to real estate sales. Being new, I have some questions that I hope someone can begin to answer:
1. What is the best school? I checked out Red Carpet, Rockwell, and Mykut. I should state that I'm less concerned with passing the exams than I am with learning about the industry, and networking. So I'm leaning toward a live class.
2. Are there organizations that I should join, and networking events that I should attend in order to meet those in the industry, and learn from them?
3. What is the best way to figure out more about job options (e.g. commercial versus residential) so that I can focus on a particular position?
Thanks,
Michael

That's where those in the real estate biz go to play.
Here you'll find a few, but mostly contrarians.

I would agree with biliruben's comment and recommendation, but I have to ask - Why are you considering going into real estate sales? I think most of the regulars visiting this blog would tell you to beware - people involved in real estate sales / financing may be in for some hard times in the near future.
