Sensitivity close in (don't worry... still G-rated)
You know what I am talking about... You have patiently endured the gracious advice from friends for 2-3 years that, "You know, shouldn't you consider buying a place? You obviously like living close to town, and it's not like prices are ever going to go down this close in." You have probably also let them slide on the patronizing tone because:
1) they really think they are helping
2) they don't recognize that their need to "explain" it to you is really just their surpressed need to justify the price they paid for their home.
I say to you anonymously, dear friends, that I appreciate the advice and, in the immortal words of General McAuliffe at the Battle of the Bulge, "Nuts!"
I submit the following properties showing price reductions in Queen Anne. No, this is not to say that these house are priced correctly, just that they are price reduced. At least it's a step in the right direction. Taking a page from Eastsider's book, please feel free to post other properties in QA, Magnolia, Fremont, Ballard, and Wallingford that might give people hope that someday there could actually be a property worth buying.
To readers who "would never pay close to that for a house no matter how close in":
Please forgive my affliction. I didn't ask to be attracted to small homes close to my work and downtown life... I was born this way.

Oh....wait...the peak was 2007 wasn't it?
So I guess these sellers should be commended for lowering their price to "peak-ish" prices rather than "peak+" prices?
Baby steps in the right direction.
Baby steps.
