Finding what happend to houses that dropped off of MLS

edited May 2007 in Seattle Real Estate
Is there a way to do it?

There are a few houses I've been watching on Redfin where all of a sudden they aren't found any longer. I've looked at the tax records for the house, but no clues there either - although I suspect it just takes some time for that info to show up.

So, can anyone explain the reasons certain houses just drop off of MLS, and if there's a way to find out what did happen?

Here's one example of a house that was for sale, and then just disappeared. What happened to it?

  • The only way I know of is to either simply wait until they record something in the MLS (or not) which is usually a month or two, or start sleeping with someone with access to the MLS.

Realtor sex. Is it worth it?
  • If it's not in public records, don't think there's any way to find the data unless you have MLS access.

But I know one reason they can disappear is if the inspection is waived, then the property doesn't go through the "Subject to Inspection" phase and goes straight to "pending." When that happens, the listing is no longer viewable by the public. That's what happened to our listing when we sold our condo. There one day, then "poof."
