King County came in at 1 NTS per 1,009 households, Snohomish County had 1 NTS per 682 households, and Pierce had 1 NTS for every 656 households (higher is better).<\/p>\n<p>Now that all of 2009 is in the bag, here&#8217;s a look at the last 10 years of total foreclosure notices and closed sales each year:<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 600px; margin: 0 auto;\">\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"http:\/\/public.tableausoftware.com\/javascripts\/api\/viz_v1.js\"><\/script><object class=\"tableauViz\" width=\"604\" height=\"669\" style=\"display:none;\"><param name=\"name\" value=\"Seattle-AreaForeclosures\/ForeclosuresSalesbyYear\" \/><param name=\"toolbar\" value=\"yes\" \/><\/object><noscript>Foreclosures \/ Sales by Year <br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/seattlebubble.com\/blog\/2010\/01\/14\/foreclosures-not-taking-a-winter-break-around-seattle\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Foreclosures \/ Sales by Year \" src=\"http:\/\/public.tableausoftware.com\/static\/images\/Seattle-AreaForeclosures-ForeclosuresSalesbyYear_rss.png\" height=\"100%\" \/><\/a><\/noscript><\/p>\n<div style=\"width:604px;height:22px;padding:0px 10px 0px 0px; margin-top: -6px; color:black;font:normal 8pt verdana,helvetica,arial,sans-serif;\">\n<div style=\"padding-left: 488px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tableausoftware.com\/public?ref=http:\/\/public.tableausoftware.com\/views\/Seattle-AreaForeclosures\/ForeclosuresSalesbyYear\" target=\"_blank\">Powered by Tableau<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.realtytrac.com\/contentmanagement\/\" title=\"RealtyTrac news releases\">foreclosure tracking company RealtyTrac<\/a>, Washington&#8217;s statewide foreclosure rate for 2009 of one foreclosure for every 78 housing units was 24th worst among the 50 states and the District of Columbia.  Note that RealtyTrac&#8217;s definition of &#8220;in foreclosure&#8221; is much broader than what we are using, and includes Notice of Default, Lis Pendens, Notice of Trustee Sale, and Real Estate Owned.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, here&#8217;s a look at the raw number of trustee sale notices sent in each county every month over the last ten years.
