Realtor Sandra VanderVen shows us a condo off Alki beach that has been on the market for a year and a half.<\/p>\n

“It almost seems like you could put a free sign out!” VanderVen jokes about the situation, but she’s nervous.<\/p>\n

In her entire career she’s never had a property sit on the market for this long and she’s not alone.

\nAgent Randie Stone on the other hand has been selling along Alki for 25 years. The last thing she’s willing to do is cut down on price.<\/p>\n

“My saying is, we still sell properties here, we don’t give them away,” she said.<\/p>\n

She believes condos are a luxury item, they may take longer to sell, but in the end she says they will.<\/p>\n

“Everything will even out, it will get better. It just will,” she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Although I suppose when you’re living in a fantasy world where you truly believed 2005 and 2006 sales levels would continue forever and ever, even “normal” is pretty frightening.<\/p>\n
