Sounds like there is quite an extended process to get them out. I'm also wondering if criminal charges are filed? Or merely civil?

I also found the comments very interesting - especially how many "thumbs up" ratings comments about walking away from existing mortgages are getting. I really think there is a sea change in attitudes happening regarding house purchasers that are underwater walking away from their mortgages.

Looks like the media attention prompted the Kirkland police to take action. Hopefully other clever operators don't get any bright idea's and try the same thing!
