The state's largest market in 2007 was China, with exports of $9.6 billion. Other top markets include Japan ($7.7 billion), Canada ($7.6 billion), India ($5.8 billion) and South Korea ($3.0 billion). Washington exported a minimum of $1 billion in goods to twelve other markets. The transportation equipment sector dominates the state's export profile, accounting for 64 percent of the total. Computers were second, followed by electronic products, machinery and processed foods. (From: http://www.ita.doc.gov Industry Trade Data and Analysis) Top exporting states.

I have heard before - but have never been able to find support in print - that Boeing is the single largest exporter in the US - and that they are pretty much the only company that can single-handedly materially change the balance of trade for the US.

This certainly backs up that view.

How much of Boeing's exports count as being Washington based as opposed to Illinois or California or Missouri?

dunno. Most of CAG is in washington, isn't it? 737, 747, 757. Guessing they don't get to export too much of the defense product. not without prior approval, at least.
