Mr. Spitzer's Indiscretion

Postby SeattleMoose » Tue Mar 11, 2008 7:09 pm

Anyone besides me think that the criminals (e.g. Wallstreet) that Mr. Spitzer prosecuted were behind the "leak" and the subsequent "weenie roast"?

Yes, he put himself in the situation....and it was wrong. But it was PERSONALLY wrong. He hurt nobody except himself and his family.

But from the media field day you would think what he did was MUCH worse than what the Wallstreet/FED criminals do on a daily basis (huge pay increases, trillions in bad loans that are going to take down the economy, destruction of the dollar, insider trading, etc.)

It would appear that we have lost all sense of perspective and relativity when it comes to the degree of persecution a "crime" gets.

And if there any doubt about who "owns" the MSM.......

Well, it doesn't make a lot of sense...that they were investigating bribery, but it he were suspected of taking bribes, why would money be going out from his bank account?
On the other hand, he also zealously prosecuted prostitution rings, so it does kind of smack of hypocrisy...
And yes, I think the Wall Street thugs are dancing a jig right about now.

Why is prostitution illegal anyways? Talk about a cure for the federal deficit right there. ;-)

I think it was politically motivated too. The investigation started when someone at his bank reported that three transfers of $5k each to the same entity was suspicuous.

It is a bigger deal since he was vigorously prosecuted prostitution as a DA. The fact that he participates in an activity he so actively spoke out against puts into question all of the other values he publically promotes. The doubt would severely limit his effectiveness as a public leader so he resigned.

A couple of years ago the Gov of NJ, NY's neighboring state, Jim McGreevy, also resigned in scandal( creating a job for his gay male lover)....
What's in the water back there, anyway?

It's interesting you automatically trust the mainstream media and assume Spitzer actually cheated on his wife.

Where are the weapons of mass destruction the Bush administration and the mainstream media promised us? or the 9/11 connection to Iraq?

And since when do steel reinforced buildings collapse due to fire? Such as WTC 7?

When the mainstream media stops telling blatant lies, I'll start listening again. Until then, forget it.
