Flushing 5 million
Seattle's 5 high-tech public toilets will be removed by July 1.
The council voted to install them four years ago to provide facilities to tourists and homeless people. Instead they were used by prostitutes and druggies. Go figure.
Seattle Public Utilities has spent $5 million on the contract for the restrooms so far, and hoped to save $4.5 million by ending the contract now. That's 250K per toilet per year. WOW. Thats an expensive flush for the taxpayers!

ALSO in our Emerald City~
City's newest fire station open for business at a cost of $44.3 million  in the International District. "Mayor Greg Nickels made note of the massive earthquake in China that has killed an estimated 22,000 people, and said disasters such as that are one reason why the city needs structures such as this new state-of-the-art building".
Wish I could use Seattle's Debit Card! I like to buy a big house to hold a few trucks for 44.3 mill and throw in a couple of 1 mill crappers too!
