Strange, funny, or pathetic listings
Like many of you I've stumbled upon several listings that had something noteworthy in it but didn't fit in the category of an audacious flip or flop and didn't deserve it's own thread. So for those listings that are weird or funny or just kinda make you wonder why anyone would hire a realtor I've created this thread.
To start:
Please do not approach seller.
I can't help myself from imagining the seller as a rabid dog straining at his leash.
To start:
Please do not approach seller.
Please do not approach seller. Value in land; but has a great foundation to start over. Great Cherry Crest Elementary School. This property is surrounded by multi-million dollar homes. The upper portion of this land is level, the rest is rolling. The home could be lived in while permits are happening
I can't help myself from imagining the seller as a rabid dog straining at his leash.

This one was posted in the comp-killers thread, but it deserves a mention in this thread as well:

Also featured in the delightful blog It's Lovely! I'll Take It!
P.S. (For those readers that have mentioned from time to time that I should get an RE license and become a member of the NWMLS to have direct access to the statistics, this thread is exactly the kind of thing I wouldn't be able to do if I were an NWMLS member.)
Maybe the seller killed the street cam guy...(there's no 'street view' of this house) I'd stay away...

The builder is asking $560,000 for it, despite the fact that the all-but-identical house they built immediately next door just sold in October for $530,000.
The really great part is that this one was originally listed at $540,000, but in late October around the time they were closing on the sale of the twin next door, they jacked up the price by $20k.
Google Street View provides a pretty good look at just how similar these two houses are.
Snohomish County records have them both at 4 beds, 3 baths, 1,444 sqft on the first floor, 1,291 on the second.
Maybe they should just take it off the market for six months--they could re-list in June for $50k more!

When the owners left the house they turned off the heat, leaving the poor chairs to huddle together in the sunlight for warmth.
The other house has .25 acre where the unsold one has .35 acre. More importantly it looks like it might also have a flatter back yard. But I think the real reason they raised the price is that they got a little more breathing room from the bank once one sold.
The sales history is good for a chuckle too:

I guess some people have passed out when they saw a house with no granite countertops? :?

Your $22,500 hard at work.
"Great Lake city location."
Isn't that an oxymoron?

Price dropped again from $516k down to $489k: "NOW priced below builder's costs!" Can't imagine the neighbors that paid $530k less than a year ago on its identical twin next door are too thrilled.

Numerous price drops since it was posted in this thread in May. Down to $299k from original listing price of $425k. Guess "currently ran as Day care" and "great for investors s kitchens and 2 separate locations" aren't as much of a draw as they were counting on.
Nothing particularly strange about that photo eh?
But then...What....The....Hell???
I can't even imagine what is going on here...and why is an 1,800 square foot townhouse in Georgetown listed for $1.5M?

How on earth has Zillow conjured up the listing from that web site?
I've driven by that Atlas Road listing a couple of times. Who would want to drive up and down that road or driveway in the snow....and they are still building new construction along that road.
I liked it better when I drove down Atlas and saw the horses grazing.
Are they buying the plans for these places at the same place? The designs are pretty close.

How to lose $60k in 6 months:
Price dropped again to $784,950 minus $20,000 in buyer bonuses. Identical house next door sold for $843,000 less than 6 months ago.
