If you keep clicking through parcel viewer, some trust bought the property because of a default on the mortgage. I googled the grantee "mortgage loan asset backed certificates" and found this interesting class action lawsuit on a similar entity

Is this some kind of invesment group that is trying to bottom feed, buying foreclosed homes? Or is this some kind of paper shuffling game to allow the bank to avoid recording a loss (e.g. is the trust somehow linked to the lender via an off-ballance sheet deal or something)?
The "trust" jon spoke of is actually a company that acts as a trustee in foreclosures.

No, it is a short sale or a foreclosure handled by http://www.northwesttrustee.com/ on the parcel viewer look at the instrument type which is Trustee's deed on the $0 sale
I don't know what is going on with this property on Bainbridge Island. I have watched this particular property until the sale on Oct 31 of $550,000. It said it was a bank owned short sale.
Three weeks later it pops up again....this time with furniture:) and it is listed at $990,000 and since further reduced to 970,000. The history on this does NOT match the history on the previous web page...confused? So am I:)
What is up with this?

When suits like that are resolved it will be another wave of hits on banks like Citi.
