OK...so I actually had my T.V. on last night (a rarity)...KCTS...I think that's the local PBS station...who knows...I rarely watch T.V.

Anyhow...Tuesday night there is a show regarding Seattle and the state of the local housing/mortgage market.

Here is the link for more info...
KCTS

Should be interesting.

  • Thanks for the tip. Their guest is a honcho at Seattle Financial, a local behemoth in the mortgage business that recently sold its reverse-mortgage-for-seniors racket to Bank of America for oodles. I am sure he will be a trove of euphemism.
  • watching it right now.
    Pathetic.
  • Lots of cheerleading........Go Seattle!!

Mostly feel-good content for those who might have recently bought or are unable to sell
  • The first woman, the condo realtor, was the worst of the bunch by far.
  • Yeah, pretty worthless television. All rehashed info, like they just read money magazine, etc.

I don't completely agree with you on this--if you listened between the lines to the last person they interviewed (an investment advisor?), he wasn't painting a pretty picture. He flat-out said that it could take 5-7 years for this whole thing to unwind. I found that rather refreshing!

I got it on VHS (poor copy, recorded on slowest speed) if anybody wants to rehash it or write up a review to post.

Apparently on next week's program (same bat time, same bat channel) they are going to continue discussing the subprime mortgage situation.
