Sucks to spend several hundred thousand dollars on a new condo with a nice view of Elliott Bay, only to discover that an office building is being built sixteen feet to the west of you...

    Doh! Some samplings of current Cosmo listing verbiage, all over $550/sq. ft., most over $600:
    "Imagine living high above it all"

    "Gorgeous views of Seattle, Elliot Bay & the Olympic & Cascade Mt. ranges from your floor to ceiling windows on the 30th floor."

    "Open the door to amazing Seattle View!"

    "The place to be in Seattle, spectacular views"

    "enjoy the views!"

    "Outstanding views"

    etc.
    A lot of these already didn't have much prayer of selling in this market, now they're just f'ed.

    Well, some lawyers are going to get fat off of this.

    It apparently didn't occur to a single Cosmo purchaser that they needed to monitor local zoning activity...

    I don't understand why this would be a surprise to anyone living in an urban core. Seems like this is just one of the risks of living downtown.
