Signs of the Times

I just wanted to hear some of the best/worst quotes people are starting to hear as local real estate fails. Here's mine.

Heard in Church today...during a prayer...from a pastor...opening the service!
... we give thanks that our housing market is protected...

Comments

  • "Oh Lord, may our housing be perpetually unaffordable to normal families, and may we all move to West Indianapolis instead. Amen."

I wonder if the pastor was praying for pets.com stock to stay high a few years ago...
  • I couldn't believe my ear the other day. On my way home I listen to KOMO1000 for the traffic reports. Anyway on comes this ad stating that "Seattle is special because we have a strong economy and NOW is a good time to invest in Seattle RE"......brought to you by your local realtors association.

The ad smacked of desperation...I had to smile.
  • I actually saw a commercial last night encouraging people to buy homes, saying that people shouldn't listen to national stories about the national housing slowdown because all real estate is local and WA is super (or something like that). I was rolling on the floor laughing. I think most people I know in Seattle are smart enough to know that the fact that this commercial was aired is per se evidence that now is NOT the time to buy.
  • Heard the ad on the radio again (KOMO1000 4:15PM). THEY LIE right on the air when they say the Median price is still going up here.

And it is paid for by the KingCo Association of Realtwhores.

There is no shame anymore. :(
