Seattle area vacancy rates?

edited January 2008 in Seattle Real Estate
Does anyone know where there is data showing the Seattle area vacancy rates over time? I have seen a number of articles pointing out that the percentage of homes for sale that are sitting vacant are at all time highs, but I don't know if this is true for our region specifically. What percentage of the homes for sale in King county are vacant, and how does this compare with prior trends?

This is certainly interesting information regarding appartments and rents. What about the vacancy rates of single family homes and condos for sale? Is the percentage of homes on the market today that are vacant lower than in the past?
  • ah - sorry -read vacancy rates and kind of stopped there I guess!

You can compare 2000 and 2006 % of housing vacant using census/facts america data. I think % of vacant units is way up - something like 5% IIRC
