People who say they don't recognize the bad arguments that they are using are either trolls or simply ignorant.
Sigh-ing or simply suggesting that someone doesn't understand doesn't make a case. But thanks for your input.
In my opinion, people who espouse that "there's no right or wrong" tend to do that because they support things they know are wrong, for some gain. In other words, it helps them sleep at night.

Unless I am missing something, no-one on this thread said that "there is no right or wrong". That is your faulty, subjective interpretation.
Since this thread has strayed far from anything related to the "Housing Bubble" and I am now debating morality issues with someone who claims to know what Hitler was thinking, I've decided that it's time to terminate my participation also.
What's ridiculous is people lauding the "Great" Generation for paying off their houses fast, when they nuked civilians, had 4+ kids, raped & poisoned the environment, put future generations deep in debt etc., all just happening to have the effect of boosting their standard of living. Then saying that it's all okay because there's no absolute right or wrong, which, tellingly, people think only when the damage is done by a large segment of society, and not by, say, a pedophile. We could pay off a house in 4 years too if we did enough damage to others & future generations, and if we weren't cleaning up the messes of past generations. (Not that more damage isn't being done now; the spoils are kept by the wealthy.)
Yes past generations did some wonderful things too. But IMO (opinions are okay here, even if y'all disagree, right?) the first truly Great Generation will be the one that achieves sustainability; i.e. where subsequent generations have the same or better standard of living. If they do it right, a house might still be paid off in short order.
Ok, so I have no problem if this is what people want to talk about, but I'm moving this thread to "Everything Else," since it now has little to nothing to do with the Housing Bubble.
It wasn't a whole generation of people who nuked civilians in WWII, it was the political and military leadership. Should your generation be blamed for all of George Bush's, or Bill Clinton's doings? Sure , it's this latest generations fault for Monica Lewinsky and the invasion of Iraq.
I think the people are responsible for the political and military leadership and all their doings, esp. in a democracy. They are responsible through action or inaction. In a true democracy there's really no excuse, for a person need only make up their mind about the important subjects and vote occassionally. For example, if the vast majority of eligible voters were adamant that there be no aggressive (imperialist) war, and each eligible voter voted in every third election, aggressive war would be no more, or else the politicians would be recalled/impeached/imprisoned. The politicians would fear that, and they'd know about the belief beforehand (opinion polls would ferret it out), so they'd likely not go in that direction to begin with. The reason imperialism is on the rise in the US now is because the people (the generations of voters) are not dead set against it. Very unlikely you'll see Germany invade another country in your lifetime, because anti-war sentiment is intense there, even 60+ years after WWII.
If a generation doesn't want the prez to commit adultery, they can pick better to begin with or recall/impeach/imprison after the fact. Otherwise they (the generation as a whole) take the rap. Same with nuking civilians. Any individual can remind that they voted against it, or didn't have 4+ kids, or whatever.

I am truely fascinated by your ability to "know" these things.
