Well, you'd be going east, which is not exactly the direction on which this country was founded. So that's definitely a risk...though not as great as Seattle->Boston would be.

I think that it flies in the face of the sage advice from the Village People and subsequently the Pet Shop Boys. They were quite clear when they dictated that we should "go west".

    You mean Horace Greeley right?
  • I thought I would hop on the bandwagon of all these Location --> Location posts.
  • Well in 1994 I did move from Seattle (Queen Anne) to Bellevue, to reduce commute times. It was heart-wrenching! After a few years I needed a Seattle fix only every other weekend or so, and now I've come to appreciate the easier parking, general cleanliness, and relative safety of the Eastside. Plus Seattle has since gotten more crowded (even worse parking) and more Eastside-ish, so it seems to me there's not much reason to live there unless you're in your 20s and/or childless.
  • If you go far enough east you end up on Bainbridge.
