Seattle Bubble on King 5 News (again?)

edited March 2008 in Seattle Real Estate
Looks like I might get to be on King 5 news again today. Reporter Bernard Choi contacted me for a story they're doing on the Case-Shiller data. I hope this one goes as well as the last appearance.

Also, does anybody have a way to digitally record live TV and transfer it to hard drive? My method last time was pretty nasty.

  • I do, but it's at home. I might be able to go set it up given enough notice. What time/channel?
  • Don't know the specifics yet, other than it will be on King 5 (channel 5), and I'm assuming since he's talking about an early afternoon interview that it would be either the 5:00 or 6:30 news. I should know more when he calls me back in the next half hour or so. It's still a maybe at this point, but I'll know more then.

Edit: Just got off the phone with Mr. Choi. Heading down to meet him in-studio at 1:30. Don't know what time the segment will air though. I'll also be stopping by Office Depot to see if they have a TV tuner that will work for me, since I happen to have $300 on a gift card there.
  • I may be able to swing by the house this afternoon if you get an air time and/or the tuner thing doesn't work out. I've been running one at the house for several years and will happily give software recommendations.
  • I can schedule my TiVo to record over the web and then I think there's a program out there that will crack the DRM on the video files once you transfer it over to a computer.

Edit: I put in a request to schedule the recording of the 5 and 6:30 shows and this will apparently take care of the drm.
  • Ok it's going to be on the 6:30 segment. Also, I picked up a tuner card that I'm about to install, so hopefully I'll get it myself. Thanks for the help guys.

Update: The TV Tuner card is working like a champ, I'm even picking up the KING5 HD signal over the air. So the quality of the video I'll upload later tonight to the blog should be top-notch. Thanks again for offering your help guys.
  • Got a sweet sweet HD recording of the appearance. I'll be uploading it later tonight to YouTube and posting it on the blog.
  • Anyone else get the Remax advertisement leading into the segment posted on the website?

Nice job Tim, even though they didn't give you too much airplay.
