  • Ugliest renovation in Lake Hills is finally on the market!!

I think it's a flip gone wrong and now they're trying to get rid of it. Unfortunately there is only a picture of the front of the house. The sides of the house is still in original condition and painted light blue.

I drive by that one often. I'd be embarrassed to own it, unless it was heavily discounted for its ugliness.
  • Ahhhh, the combination of Cape Cod, NW Lodge and Stucco. Makes me tingle with yuk.

Markor, the amount you might save from a heavy discount would be swallowed up to redo it. Especially if you had to sell!

Yeah, it's a Stuccodlodge. One of a kind. Kind of like a turduckhen, but in a house form.
  • Ugh, just the location is terrible. You couldn't pay me to live right on 156th.

I remember when that went up for sale not long after I moved to the area. When it sold and then the new owners jumped right into rennovating it my wife and I wondered if it would be a fix n' flip. They got the flip part right, but I'm not sure if they fixed it.

Apparently my flipper bud realized $500 wasn't going to cut it, and decided to take $10/hr. He hopes.

    Price down to 309K.
STI as of 06/25. Will be interesting to see if it closes, and at how much.
  • Yeah, saw that. Good for Joe.

Hopefully he eeked out a fair profit for his work.

That picture reminds me of the old rule, if you are thinking of selling, owning the nicest house in the neighborhood is not where you want to be.
  • 3432 Woodlawn Ave N

Purchased in 2006 for $492,500, selling today for the random digit price of $1,289,500 ($403/sqft). My prediction is a $300k price drop before it sells ($310/sqft) or lower...

    5530 Ashworth Ave N

Purchased in 2007 for $560,500, selling today for $1,349,000. It's kind of bizarre, a traditional 4-square on stilts with garage jammed in front.
  • Christ. Why would anybody pay $1.3 million to live next to the transfer station?!? The block stinks, quite literally.
  • Which one is next to the transfer station?

The first one's not my style, but I can't knock it otherwise. Nice looking remodel.

The second one is ugly from the street. Looks like they didn't bother trying to find an attractive way to merge craftsman with an attached garage. I wonder if it's real wood trim inside, or MDF.
  • The first one (3432 Woodlawn Ave N) is a block or two from the North Transfer station and next to a large commercial building owned by Seattle Public utilities. Not to mention the Metro 26 rolling by all day every day.

Hey, easy access to public transportation!!!
  • Not really a flip, but I didn't see a someone's high forum.

Says short sale, last sale 2003 - $398k
Selling now $850K - hope someone got a good boat out of it...

Love that front door view of I-5.

    I'm speechless...
  • Wow! I've never seen such a reflective toilet seat cover before. With the "art" on the wall and the figurine, I can imagine a Dantes Inferno hallucination thing happening with a "party" guest.

Inspiration for the bathroom decor has got to be one of those "religious" experiences one occasionally had when worshiping the porcelain throne during your college / party years?

    And I'm frightened.
  • That bathroom scares me. WTF is that thing in the lower right corner?
  • Does this look like 2 stories to you?

    28123133_0.jpg

    Me neither.

Realtors should be fined heavily for trying to pass-off this crappy flipper bullshiznet.
  • From the listing above.

    What's wrong with this picture?

Baby toys? People here don't have kids. They have careers and dogs.
  • Usually you don't take a picture of the back of your wife for your listing.

OH! I love this game. It's like "Where's Waldo?"

Is it the basket? Why have a basket if your plan is to just put blankets(?) on it? It's supposed to just be a block of wood.

The house is 1-story with a basement and is overpriced by $100k...

You shuldn't put your guitar next to the fireplace. The heat and humidity changes aren't good for it. Although it doesn't look like that fireplace has ever been used.

Correct. If you never use the fireplace, then it is actually a smart place to store the guitar you bought to show off how hip you are. This is because the brick is part of an interior wall, which means the temperature near the guitar varies far less than if you stored it next to an exterior wall.
  • All good guesses, but the answer I was really looking for the placement of the magazines on the table.

I think they should be more toward the center.
