DR Horton

A while back, in the open forums, someone asked about buying into a DR Horton house in the Issaquah Highlands.

Don't know who it was, but my response was that if you buy there, you are entirely at the mercy of Horton, which right now is a wounded animal. Earnings down 85% and admission that they will do anything to get people into their excess inventory.

Nothing says '$100,000 price cut next door' like the quotes by their CEO. This one is my favorite:

"As I've said to all our salespeople, if a buyer is warm and has a pulse, we want to put them on paper,"

Comments

  • Has anyone tried low-balling a DR Horton home on the eastside (or in Issaquah Highlands)?
  • Also, has anyone tried low-balling a new home (built by DR Horton or other builders) in the past few months? What was the result of it?

A new home community in Redmond is still selling for 3-6% over the builder's asking price (with multiple offers on each home) :(
