Good news for one family in need of a home

Connie is well known in Kirkland for her community involvement and is supporting four children alone. If you want to volunteer to help, outside the Totem Lake mall is the staging area where you can sign up. The family woke this morning to the Extreme Home Makeover Team and are off to Florida for a week while their very old and unstable house is replaced by a new one. I believe their old house is coming down tomorrow.

    Apparently not. Although big (3,500 sq ft) the new home will be "Extreme Green" with a focus on making sure Connie's bills will be affordable. Her situation was that she was about to lose both her home and livelihood as her house had not passed a city inspection. As well as being structurally unsound it contained lead paint and asbestos. Sometimes an older home is not a romantic dream but a financial nightmare.
