Looks like this is old news (from 3 months ago)... but I found it kinda fascinating:

The comments thread is where it's at (read bottom to top). Sounds like the original poster didn't really want the rational discussion he got about weather the legend was fact or fiction - he was just looking for mutual agreement that it needed to be squashed, true or not:
