Seattle leads the way for increasing home prices

  • I couldn't tell from glancing at the article, but how old is the data they are looking at. If it trails by about 3 months, then 9% seems about right. I expect to see July YOY data to be a lot closer to 4%, because I think most of the recent YOY increases happened last year in the spring.
  • It's indeed May data.

Interesting to note that out of the composite 20 we're only 12th for most appreciation since Jan 00. With the caveat that Seattle was already lot more inflated in Jan 00 than Phoenix, Vegas, or Florida.
  • I thought I caught that headline out of the corner of my eye as I walked by a pair of Seattle PI/Times boxes this morning, but now I can't find the article online.

Think they realized it was May data and pulled it from the online version?
