World Economy, Land Reform

The world polutation is growing. Demand for natural resources is the highest it has been and continues to grow. The American people have loved the idea of space exploration with our government saying it is a way to increase our ability to provide those resources. Two things are wrong with that, food and water. Breathable air and shelter are also in there.
Having billions of people on this planet creates a stagering possibility for wealth. If a government controls the land, and pays for management, they control the people on the land. Management gets wealthy, the government gets and gives security. The king in the castle, the serfs in the feilds, merchants, and money changers.
Today you are writing your Congessman. I read a claim that immigration reform would have breezed through Congress if it were not for the protests against it. The fact is Wal Mart needs cheap labor, and goods to maintain it's level of wealth. Immigration provides many possibilities for the creation of wealth.
This is a Real Estate forum. Let's take your land lord that many of you are so proud to be paying. He's the scum of the earth. There is no lower form of life than the land lord. He is cheap, petty, and greedy to a fault. he laughs at you every day. He has no soul, no matter how nice he appears. He builds his wealth with your dollars. You help to suppress more and more people with every dollar you give him.
In that regard, you responsible citizens who are paying your rent on time are the problem. When you put my money that you are saving into a bank account, stock market, or 401K you are feeding a very corrupt system of oppression. Those dollars are used for investment to get you a return on my investment.
Did you notice that I am talking about my money, not yours. You get my dollars by some of the most useless human endevours imaginable, jobs. Most people not only pay a land lord, they work at jobs. The almighty JOB which in turn, ironically, is a book in the Bible dealing with trials and tribulations.
If your job does not create housing units for home ownership (shelter), food, water, or breathable air, what are you doing? We have billions of people in the world and more every day.
Are you promoting the use of condoms every time you have sex? That to me seems the only safe way to cut population, unless you think sexually transmitted disease is God's population control plan.
Many of you have college degrees. You bought into the higher education means of keeping you out of the work force. Higher education in turn brought us more doctors and lawyers, engineers, and architects, land use planners, and researchers. In all of that higher education, here today, we are talking about band aids to the human condition. People here talk about renting, saving money, and being responsible. Write your Congress person? They could not care less about you. They are building wealth by enacting policies that keep the population rising, and collecting tax dollars.
In addition to promoting condom use, I also advocate every one own a home and pay it off. I consult with people who want to start businesses that are a benefit to the human condition. My wife and I have a house cleaning company that my parents are not to proud of, but they came from a back ground of higher education. What I know for a fact is that for all my father's hard work, savings, and investing, his Real Estate holdings are the basis for his retirement and wealth.
I help people make sound home choices. We help as many people as we can to realize a dream of creating wealth by being business owners who do employ people. We encourage investment in themselves. We feed a lot of families and donate what we can to helping others. That is the American way.

  • Realtor troll=loser.
    Go away.
  • In addition to promoting condom use, I also advocate every one own a home and pay it off.

No no, I want to hear more life advice from my local real estate agent. You can't make this stuff up.
  • Wow! David, you have opened my mind to just how many fallacies a single rambling post can contain.
The world polutation is growing. Demand for natural resources is the highest it has been and continues to grow.
Start with some real facts. Nice touch.
The American people have loved the idea of space exploration with our government saying it is a way to increase our ability to provide those resources.
Is that really why we support space exploration? The government is so eager to take resources from outer space that we are spending $16 Billion a year on space and only $200-$300 Billion a year in Iraq.
Two things are wrong with that, food and water.
There's also that little Kahn problem, but let's not belabor the point.
Breathable air and shelter are also in there.
Is that air and shelter are in space, or are they in the food and water? It's so difficult to sort out these sentence fragments.
Having billions of people on this planet creates a stagering possibility for wealth.
You are correct. A large population likes to be entertained, and I consider that a possibility for stage and other forms of entertainment.
If a government controls the land, and pays for management, they control the people on the land. Management gets wealthy, the government gets and gives security. The king in the castle, the serfs in the feilds, merchants, and money changers.
Good analogy! Today's world clearly runs on feudalism. That system worked so well that it clearly was not abandoned before the reformation.
Today you are writing your Congessman. I read a claim that immigration reform would have breezed through Congress if it were not for the protests against it. The fact is Wal Mart needs cheap labor, and goods to maintain it's level of wealth. Immigration provides many possibilities for the creation of wealth.
This is proof that a democratic republic actually works. It really argues against your own point, but the fact that congress listened to the masses when they actually wrote in proves that we like a government that works without us most of the time and listens when we are angry enough.
You seem a bitter David. Did a landlord hold up your family while they left the opera, shoot your parents, and then later become a super-villain by falling in toxic waste? If not, it seems that landlords as a group use capital to invest in property, then take a reasonable risk by leasing that property out for a reasonable gain. Some are rats. But some house cleaners are rats too.
In that regard, you responsible citizens who are paying your rent on time are the problem.
Would you rather I pay my rent late or not at all? Should I do the same with my mortgage and credit cards? Interesting scheme, but will it work?
When you put my money that you are saving into a bank account, stock market, or 401K you are feeding a very corrupt system of oppression. Those dollars are used for investment to get you a return on my investment.
Did you notice that I am talking about my money, not yours. You get my dollars by some of the most useless human endevours imaginable, jobs.
Unless you're writing your name on each bill you touch or your real name is George Washington, that is insane. I mean it, really insane. Are you angry that I am investing my money and getting a return on it while you are sinking money into a house and getting no return?
Most people not only pay a land lord, they work at jobs. The almighty JOB which in turn, ironically, is a book in the Bible dealing with trials and tribulations.
It was bad before, but now it's really taking a turn for a worst. Without jobs, how would you expect people to produce large projects? One guy can sell comic books out of his own store, but one guy cannot teach a university, build a commercial aeroplane, create a movie, or play football. Large tasks require groups, and those groups can either be compensated or be slaves. I rather prefer our methodology given the alternative.
If your job does not create housing units for home ownership (shelter), food, water, or breathable air, what are you doing?
What counts David? If I make tractors does that count? What if I make software that maintains the complex supply chain our world uses to transport food and building materials? Fast Food? Medical care? It only takes a fraction of our current manufacturing capability to keep everyone housed and fed. Should we all just work 5 hour weeks and then sit on the grass staring at trees all day? If you don't like anything but housing and food, GET RID OF YOUR COMPUTER.
We have billions of people in the world and more every day.
In all fairness, February 29th comes along so seldom it hardly counts.
Are you promoting the use of condoms every time you have sex? That to me seems the only safe way to cut population, unless you think sexually transmitted disease is God's population control plan.
A safer way is education and skilled jobs. Both are proven to reduce birthrates, which is why the 'western world' doesn't even have birth rates high enough for replacement.
Many of you have college degrees. You bought into the higher education means of keeping you out of the work force. Higher education in turn brought us more doctors and lawyers, engineers, and architects, land use planners, and researchers.
Holy crap! He's right. He's so right.
In all of that higher education, here today, we are talking about band aids to the human condition. People here talk about renting, saving money, and being responsible. Write your Congress person? They could not care less about you. They are building wealth by enacting policies that keep the population rising, and collecting tax dollars.
If a congress person actually skimmed extra off our taxes, that would be a felony. But fortunately, you a realtor do not benefit in any way from government intervention right? Laws that help first time buyers afford homes and bailouts do not help you right? The Fed dropping it's interest rate and pitching ARMs didn't help you RIGHT? Get off your high horse.
I'm sorry for him, as he will lose a considerable amount of that value in the next 5-10 years.
I help people make sound home choices. We help as many people as we can to realize a dream of creating wealth by being business owners who do employ people. We encourage investment in themselves. We feed a lot of families and donate what we can to helping others. That is the American way.
You personally create business owners who enslave people to work JOBS??????????
  • I suppose this is what desperation, denial, and idealism looks like in print form.

David, I don't know what you've been smoking, but I think you should stop. It's not helpng you.
  • Where did I put my tinfoil hat???

  • Yes, that's correct, we create jobs to enslave people who actually work for a living. The catch is that they have to learn how to do it for themselves.
Realtor? No, I work for a living. I'm a poor, stupid, ignorant slob.
Here's the facts again. The world population is growing. Housing, and food prices are rising. Water is an intangible, but don't worry, some body figured out how to bottle it.
Yes I advocate you stop what you are doing and fight the powers that be and Flavor Flav becomes a profit. Look it up, it's the most important thing you will ever do.
You need to take control of your lives and buy into a system that offers you and yours security for the future.
You have to own and control your home, there is no other way. You have no rights to property without that. If you want to own and contol other people's homes, go ahead. I only ask you help them learn and do for themselves.
  • Yes I advocate you stop what you are doing and fight the powers that be and Flavor Flav becomes a profit. Look it up, it's the most important thing you will ever do.

    Ok, so far we've got:
    • Use condoms
    • Do something that is a benefit to the human population (such as cleaning houses)
    • Do not get a job, jobs are a detriment to the human population
    • Stop what you are doing (I'm going to continue typing so that I can finish this post, but I'll stop soon thereafter)
    • Fight the powers that be and Flavor Flav
    • Look up Flavor Flav (it's the most important thing you will ever do)

    Anything else oh wise sage?
  • David - don't go away, this is great stuff!
In addition to promoting condom use, I also advocate every one own a home and pay it off.

LOL! I sense a new NAR ad campaign!

Using a condom is particularly important when your Realtor offers to have sex with you to clinch a sale!
  • OK grab your tin foil hats, let's talk about George Bush and his policies for America. You all liked the space exploration for natural resources. Remember, we are going to Mars! Does any one remember that speach by George? Mars!
OK, September 8th, 2007, George declared we would end the war in Korea if North Korea stopped nuclear posturing. The South Korean President had to ask George three times to repeat himself. George is not the president of either soveriegn nation of North or South Korea. How is he going to declare an end to a conflict between two nations other than ours?
Now, remember when George said that Home Ownership was at it's highest level ever as proof that our economy was strong?
George Bush is a President of the United States of America. His mandate, as I see it, was to hunt down and kill one man Osama Bin Laden. Bin Laden left a video this morning talking about mortgages, globalization, and corporate greed.
Bin Laden predicted the collapse of the American financial system years ago and today you are all saying he is correct.
Now housing units exsist here in America. Your concern is about the price and financing. Of course, like good Communists, you want the government to give you those houses, which they will. The houses are bought and paid for by investors so why not just give them away? We've all paid for those housing units, time, and time again. We all allowed our government to set policies that were high risk to investors. We voted these people into office which is another thing Bin Laden addresses in the video.
This guy lives in a cave on the other side of the world and is predicting our future. He is setting things in motion that our President is reacting to. You, as the good savers that you all are, pay rent, buy IRAs, and work your JOBS for the good of the economy, or are you?
  • We will make an exception to the Don't feed the trolls rule for Davey here. This is too good!
  • My landlord is actually in Brussels right now as a presecutor in a human rights trial against a Serbian mass-murderer, but you're right, he might still be evil. Of course that would make my mom evil too, because she owns an apartment building in LA. (My wife would in fact agree that she's evil, so you might have a point.)
  • Hey, just a dog-gone minute here, I might have found the single thread of faulty logic in your brilliant, devastating diatribe. You say your father's wealth is based on his vast real estate holdings, but you also state that landlords are evil. Your dad's evil, isn't he, David? Of course, it's probably a Darth Vader/Luke Skywalker scenario, so you're probably not evil yourself.

PS - Do you know a guy named Meshugy? You remind me of him. Maybe you travel in the same circles.
  • I love David Losh. He is our master and miracle of illogic.
  • My father owns a commercial building that houses small businesses. That is the basis of his retirement much more than the IRA, 401K, hedge fund schemes.
The reason I started on the forum rather than respond to the hysteria of this blog was to bring some reality to the discussion.
Some one asked for data and at http://www.geohive.com they track the world population at about six billion. This is a reality.
How many of you guys bought oil futures when George Bush invaded Iraq? How many of you guys bought Microsoft stock when Bill Clinton, and Al Gore made that speach about having a personal computer in every household? How many of you guys sold your Microsoft stock when the Federal Government made it clear they could not allow the business practices of the company?
You are all talking about the Feds discount rates and the banking industries explotation of cheaper money. The banking industry is highly government regulated. Now I'll remind you again of George Bush's speach where he uses the high Home Ownership rate as proof the economy is doing great.
If you follow government activity over the years it's easy to make fortunes. It's much easier if you are the corporation that is the beneficiary of government action, such as Haliburton.
The thing that keeps coming to my mind about many issues facing America today is; what if our government allowed more people from China to immigrate here legally? Not a whole lot, just a few million people of high standing or wealth coming to America to live.
Hey, how many dollars do the Chinese have invested in America? I won't bore you with data, you can look it up, it's pretty easy to do, it's counted in billions and trilions.
If your claims are true and the housing market is horribly manipulated to drive up values, or inflation, causing recession, or depression, it can also be manipulated to make equity. If there is manipulation in the housing market, and I agree there is, why are you concerned about the outcome? The only reason for any of the lending melt down is to create losses.
I'm always fascinated when people talk about losses in the stock market or hedge funds or especially in housing. Where does the money go? Is it lost in the couch, or under the floor mats?
The thing about Real Estate is that it is a real tangible asset. I might walk away from a high payment and some one else comes in to renegotiate. The asset, the house, doesn't go anywhere to get lost.
In terms of demand, I think there are millions of people in this country already who will buy a house and pay for it. I think there are millions of people who never thought they could buy a house who will now get the oportunity.
Will the market correct, absolutely. Will it fall by twenty per cent, of course. Will the market fall below the straight line of appreciation, maybe. Will it return to normal, definitely. The world is invested in the United States. People want to come here because we have hot water for thirty minute showers. We have roads that aren't all messed up the way they are in most of the world. Demand for America will remain secure.

    Now about Flavor Flav:

    Fight The Power
    Shocklee - Sadler - Ridenhour

1989 the number another summer (get down)
    Sound of the funky drummer
Music hittin' your heart cause I know you got sould
    (Brothers and sisters, hey)
    Listen if you're missin' y'all
    Swingin' while I'm singin'
    Givin' whatcha gettin'
    Knowin' what I know
    While the Black bands sweatin'
    And the rhythm rhymes rollin'
Got to give us what we want
Gotta give us what we need
Our freedom of speech is freedom or death
We got to fight the powers that be
    Lemme hear you say

    Fight the power

    Chorus

As the rhythm designed to bounce
What counts is that the rhymes
    Designed to fill your mind
Now that you've realized the prides arrived
We got to pump the stuff to make us tough
    from the heart
    It's a start, a work of art
To revolutionize make a change nothin's strange
People, people we are the same
    No we're not the same
Cause we don't know the game
What we need is awareness, we can't get careless
    You say what is this?
My beloved lets get down to business
    Mental self defensive fitness
    (Yo) bum rush the show
You gotta go for what you know
Make everybody see, in order to fight the powers that be
    Lemme hear you say...
    Fight the Power

    Chorus

Elvis was a hero to most
But he never meant shit to me you see
Straight up racist that sucker was
    Simple and plain
Mother fuck him and John Wayne
Cause I'm Black and I'm proud
I'm ready and hyped plus I'm amped
Most of my heroes don't appear on no stamps
Sample a look back you look and find
Nothing but rednecks for 400 years if you check
    Don't worry be happy
    Was a number one jam
Damn if I say it you can slap me right here
(Get it) lets get this party started right
    Right on, c'mon
    What we got to say
Power to the people no delay
    To make everybody see
In order to fight the powers that be

    (Fight the Power)

You are all looking at things one way, from one perspective. You're lost in a wageslave merry go round of colored lights and pink ponies.
  • Best. Thread. Ever.
  • I'm with you, Lake Hills. I'm still uncertain if it's genius satire or the ramblings of a madman, but either way, I like it a lot.
  • Wow!

David - I bet you have an opinion on how to protect our precious bodily fluids.
  • Use condoms to protect those bodily fluids.
  • That should work!
  • My wife is from Peru. There is a way of doing business there that is outside of the box. Come to think of it my office is in the International District and my last two buyers put down over one hundred thousand dollars on less than a four hundred twenty and three hundred fifty thousand dollar purchase. Cash is a way of life in some circles.
In Viet Nam when you sell a five hundred thousand dollar property the money is transfered in what's called bricks. Bricks are usually shrink wrapped United States Currency. The currency is usually in less than one hundred dollar denomonations. When we see currency changes it is some times to weed out stashes of cash.
You guys all like cash. Some of you talk about gold, but what surprised me was the price of diamonds. I wasn't paying attention to diamonds for about ten years after my wife died. Then when I remarried I was shocked at the prices. I had to ask at least six times for the price of a ring that I wanted. It made no sense. All the DeBeers bullshit about cornering the market made no sense. We don't need to buy no sticking diamonds.
As time went along I didn't see how people could transport gold secretly. Wire transfers are a paper trail. bearer bonds, securities, or stocks are suspect, so diamonds, in my opinion, became the money smugglers best vehicle.
OK, they now brand diamonds, but a large stone, uncut, is still very liquid. Liquidity is the Holy Grail of wealth and the creation of wealth.
One gentleman on a comment to a post was saying he has his money in currencies other than United States dollars. What I know is that the dollar isn't what it used to be, but is still respected. The New World, as we are called, still has considerable resources, oil reserves, technology, and a brand of medicine that is greatly sought after.
The Euro has built great fortunes and taken a lot of the allure out of currency speculation. What are we going to speculate in? You guys have taken the fun out of housing, tech stock, and now with the mortgage company implosion, the real question is where is the money going to next?
Global Investment Funds have more money than they really know what to do with. It's no accident that there are more millionaires today. It's really no accident that houses sell for multi millions of dollars, and no one really seems to care. What used to sell for one point four million sells for three million today. No one cares about jumbo loans at five million dollars, they write checks for the amount of purchase.
Money moves around the world today like the sun and the moon. In China when they make things for a dollar and sell them in the United States for ten dollars, that's a high return. Oil? Give me a break, United States companies pump oil every day for the same over head as seven years ago. Did I mention diamonds? How many diamonds can you fit in a wall safe and hold for ten years?
Now about housing in Seattle Washington. Developers have been selling cheap, crappy products for a hudred thousand dollar profit per unit for years. Do you really think they care if they bankrupt the corporation currently holding the remainder inventory? Do you really think anybody cares if prices slide in your price range? It's all funny money. If you don't have it, go out and make more. There is plenty of it sloshing around in the world.
  • "Realtor? No, I work for a living. I'm a poor, stupid, ignorant slob. "

    From davidlosh.com

"My wife and I operate a couple of business that specialize in preparing properties for sale. This is work I have done since high school in 1968. My wife manages the businesses while I concentrate on helping people buy and sell Real Estate."

OK, so you're *not* a Realtor, but you *do* concentrate on helping people buy and sell Real Estate. I understand now.

I'd like to simplify things a little bit for everyone out there. There are nice people, and bad people. There are crazy people and sane people. That gives four types of people:

    -CrazyNice
    -CrazyBad
    -SaneNice
    -SaneBad

Mr Losh clearly falls in the CrazyNice category. i.e. there is a potential for internal voices, but instead of saying "you're being watched, kill your mother", they say things like "go and buy real estate, conserve precious bodily fluids".
  • Go ahead call me crazy. The fact is there are no more new worlds to conqueer. One of you mentioned Fuedalism that doesn't work. One of the main reasons it didn't continue is because the king only had so much land to give to his generals. We're in the same boat today. There are no more new territories to conqueer or tame. The old saying, that they aren't making any more land is very true.
I brought up space exploration for a reason. I think there is a sub conscious desire for the Star Trek way of thinking. People want to believe some how there are other planets to go to. The sad fact is that some corporation will take over space exploration to find some mineral we won't be able to live without.
No new worlds or territories means another new frontier. How do we manage to survive the growing population? How do we secure a border, any border? What's going to contain the masses from walking across any border any time? If mexicans truely want to storm the border what would stop them?
There is a military theory since the end of World War Two that says the Chinese army can conqueer any country using only conventional weapons by sheer force of numbers. The Chinese army can march across Europe when ever they chose, they don't chose to.
There is another military theory that became popular after the Viet Nam war that was future wars would be fought by economic means rather than the militarily. I think that China is winning an economic war with the world today.
Not to change the subject but to continue a thought; how is it that Africa has such great wealth of natural resources and they continue to starve and die from disease? Why is South America so desperate for money when they have everything a person could ever want? Is this poverty, disease, and hunger caused by wealthy land owners? Are land owners really turning to crops that can be used for Ethonal rather than food? Is our obsession with planes, trains, and automobiles taking the front seat to the care and feeding of the planet? Of course not!
Land management is the governments responsibility. World leaders have a vested interest in making sure they stay in power, and most importantly, control. We can all see what happened in Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Cuba, Venezuela, Columbia, Afganistan, Pakistan, and Bosnia. Did some one mention Serbia? World leaders need to find some means to keep the people happy, and healthy.
The new frontier is economic. The United States is no different from any other large government in that it has to make policies to keep the people paying bills, working jobs, and not asking why they are paying so much for everything. You guys talk about the price of housing like it has some meaning. We pay three dollars a gallon for gas, over a dollar for a head of lettuce, and fifteen dollars for a Chinese shirt.
We make all of that stuff here but we still buy all of those products from over seas. The world does business one country to another every day. We trade currencies every day. If you don't like our stock market today you can send your dollars to any other stock market you chose. In even thinking about stock markets I can't keep track of them all.
The only question in this entire blog is if those international dollars are coming to Seattle Washington.
  • I have been searching for a random-blog-entry generator. It clearly exists. I just can't seem to locate it. David has. Apparently it's only bug is that it can only generate entries that are 180 lines long.
  • You need to take control of your lives and buy into a system

C'mon guys, this other stuff is somewhat funny, but this little tidbit? Freakin' PRICELESS! I can't believe I am the first one pointing it out!
  • deejayoh wrote:

I'd buy into that theory, but am impressed by the "intelligence" built into the computer system. While seemingly random, all the insane points all seem to point in one cohesive, yet insane, direction. Quite clever!
  • Short and simple is that the world is a big place. Price keep going up for everything, and there is no end in sight. More people means more demand.
Secondly I do take a stand, I do buy in, every comment I see is a kind of personal attack. I'm just asking that any one shows me where I'm wrong. The price of housing, stocks, oil, durable goods, or gold are all going up what magic is going to change that curve?

    One word: robots

    Plastics.

Why will plastics solve this issue? Land reform through plastics and the liberalized use of condoms will help reduce real estate price because plastics and housing are linked through oil and the Arab nations. Diamonds and plastics are one and the same, as the price of diamonds has gone up and so has the price of plastics. This is why George Bush invaded Iraq. Plastics, my friend. Plastics. Without plastics we wouldn't have condoms and couldn't preserve our precious bodily fluids and the world population would explode. This would make prices go up and starve our world of resources to make plastics, which would mean we couldn't preserve our precious bodily fluids which would mean the population would go up, and we would run out of the raw materials to make what? That's right, plastics. With less plastics in the world they will have to make keyboards smaller with less keys and so people will be less able to separate long rambling posts as they'll be unable to separate paragraphs.

    In conclusion, plastics.
  • Robots, plastic, another Star Trek episode, spoken like a true American. What changes the curve? What's changing demand?
  • Its like the faux-Faulkner writing contest, only we call this one Faux-Losh
