Bank accounts in Europe

My dh has a business with many customers in Europe, would there be any reason why he would not be able to open an account at a European bank and have his customers pay in Euros/Sterling? I read in one post that HSBC (based out of Hong Kong) has offshore accounts. However, I also read this back in February http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters ... ubles.html

Would they be a good choice in the circumstances? Any recommendations..?
