The Double Hedge
Saw this on Seattle Times this afternoon. It's shocking to me how quickly the news has turned a 180 from "Seattle bucks all trends" to "man the lifeboats".
My favorite quote though is this:
Wha?!! Did Melvey just pull a double hedge? Stating what other people are 'thinking' is a hedge, because it can't be proven. That's as opposed to stating what others are doing, which might be verified. Likewise, stating what you think is a hedging the accuracy of your information.
In further news, I think tomorrow's article may will declare "... think that some sellers are staring to think that burying a St. Joseph's statue under their house is more likely to damage their unmarked pipes than cause the home to sell."
My favorite quote though is this:
"I think a number of buyers are thinking that there might be better deals in the future," said Bob Melvey, assistant manager of Windermere Real Estate in Ballard.
