FYI. I watched a show on MSNBC tonight called Home Wreckers that was an investigative Chris Hansen type show about allegedly fraudulent and deceptive contractors. It shows serious examples of what can happen if you aren't diligent about checking licensing, insurance, bonding, references, etc. Pretty scary stuff.

There were a couple of local names profiled in one story -- real estate agent Paul Stickney of Windermere in Redmond and contractor Dick Birgh of Home Improvement Help Inc. It looks like there's a whole website dedicated to their practice as well: Renovation Trap.

    Wait. This cannot be possible. For one, Realtors(tm) and real estate agents hold themselves to the highest standard of ethics. They always say so, so it must be true. They also say they never ever have no conflicts of interest either.

    This is one hell of a scary story. I hope those poor homeowners get some relief in court.
