JP Patches Pavers - Looking for advice

edited January 2008 in Seattle Culture
Hey everyone. For Christmas, my family is buying one of the "J.P. Patches Pavers" in my dad's name as his gift. However, I'm coming up somewhat blank as to what would be good to put on the brick. Obviously I'd like it to have his name, which is four letters then five (first, last). But I'm hitting a creative block beyond that.

Anybody got any good ideas? Something clever, something touching, whatever? The limitation is three lines, 18 characters each.

Thanks for anything you come up with.

  • Darn...I'm sorry I missed this The Tim! I have two pavers...one for my husband and I (we actually were going to have JP marry us on April fools...but his Mom--who's a doll in her 80's-- wasn't too thrilled) and one for our kids. I'm about to buy another one for my sister in law who loved JP and passed away last year.

I don't know your Dad...so I don't have any suggestions and I'm late to the party with my reply...

Did you buy a paver and what does it say? :)
  • I went with:
    NORM ELLIS
    JP PATCHES PAL
    AND KID AT HEART
I even made up a little certificate which is what we actually wrapped up and gave to him at Christmas.

  • That's very cool. When I first saw the image (before reading the text) I panicked thinking...wait a second...I don't have any certificates for my pavers! :)

What a very thoughtful gift. I'm sure your Dad was thrilled.

JP's 50th Anniversary is Feb 10 2008. If I hear of anything that's going on with the statue or elsewhere, I'll let you know.
