You're welcome! Don't do what the sellers did to us (we just took possession last week). They were so nasty to us -- negotiations were very contentious -- and we figure it all boiled down to us getting the house for less than asking. Last week wh…

Here is a thread in which we touched on re-listings: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1080 Tim wrote a post about re-listings on the blog, too, but I can't find it now.

I saw this house -- 65th is super busy, the yard is miniscule, and it just seemed like a flip to me. I tried to avoid all flips (not interested in their granite -- the flips always made me wonder what they were hiding).

OK, one more just came on tonight: http://redfin.com/stingray/do/printable ... id=1521095 10616 8th Ave NW Seattle, WA 98177 They're asking for $170K profit in 4 months.

So which bank WOULD you use? I'm talking normal checking and bill paying stuff. We've been with WAMU for 14 years, but I'm starting to get a bit nervous...

Wow, $799K and the agent couldn't be bothered to spell-check the marketing description. Nice -- well earned 3% (or whatever it is).

OK, I'll play -- could be a good kathartic exercise. The problem is that I'm not sure what the original prices were for most of these; I just can't keep it all in my head after deciding I'm not interested in the house. Any agent on this forum woul…

As someone who works on UW campus, I would highly recommend you find a place with a good bus line to campus or within walking distance. Trust me, your girlfriend will appreciate it! If you work in Auburn, you won't get caught up in traffic, but if…

Ah yes, the sheik house! Here are two that really stick in my craw. I would have bought either of these earlier this year and LIVED in them, rather than immediately flip them: Case #1: http://www.redfin.com/stingray/do/print ... id=1126527…

I've viewed a few "as is" houses in the last year, and it seems to me to be code for "trashed rental property that the landlord is eager to offload."

Boy, that is one tiny, dinky looking house. Over 2,000 ft2, huh? The house doesn't seem to be a "Magnolia style." I will say that I have noticed huge drops in Magnolia homes -- too bad we don't have the stomach to live there again.

Yup, I now officially have egg on my face. I did misread Markor's comment, which is why I went back to reread it (the "what?" gut-reaction Saturday morning), but then couldn't find it again because I thought the discussion was under the out…

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to start another "to buy or not to buy" thread -- I was really looking for clarification from the poster on the blog. I know I've written this before and I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but we are looking at c…

Thanks for mentioning Estately -- I had never really looked at it before. Is there a way to get those "new listing/sold today" figures for specific areas? Knowing that Bothell or Kent's cups runneth over with houses on the market doesn't really he…

This can be fun, as much fun as they are having on the Craigs list thread. I've been watching the market for well over a year (yes, with the intent to buy, but now we're waiting until spring to see what happens). I know of lots of flips on the mar…

Here's an interesting one: http://www.redfin.com/stingray/do/print ... id=1202878 I would never in a million years pay that much to live in that neighborhood on that street: $899K!

RE: the Burien house: This one has ponies -- there's even a photo of a pony on the wall! (It drives me crazy when photos focus more on the furniture/decor in the house rather than the house features).
