The Question Today is Where are All the Imaginary Tenants in the Seattle Area Willing to Pay $2000/mo+?

They’ve all given up and many crowd in with mom and dad [check out driveways with 4-5 cars in them]….its a pure give-away….can’t sell or rent these youngsters anything lately….

Many have moved to Tacoma or LOL, Kansas City….

Bernie Sanders’s big idea: Make college free for everyone

RE: pfft @ 2 – Free might be going too far the other way (although California did that decades ago). But it clearly needs to be a lot more subsidized than what it is now. Investments in education pay off in the long run.

    Hillary? Hillary? (Crickets chirping….)

On Sunday, Sanders called on Clinton, who was an outspoken supporter of the trade pact as Obama’s secretary of state, to take a stand on Obama’s deal.

“You’re either for it or you’re against it. No fence-sitting on this one,” he said on CNN.

RE: pfft @ 2 – What a shock – you think that everything should be free. Because, the Fed can just create new money to pay for it.

You realize that the global corporatists would be all for this idea – nothing better than an excess of trained workers to drive down wages even more than they are now.

So when is Hillary going to start answering questions? Maybe she can one-up Obama and have “the most transparent administration in history”

I don’t know why you’d ask me, I am not her campaign. you think she’s answered no questions? she’s been in politics for years. the election is more than a year away.

“What a shock – you think that everything should be free.”

Actually I don’t remember saying anything of the sort. I could easily pay for it by raising taxes a little bit or just use a modest financial transactions tax. Free college would probably pay for itself. more qualified people going to college. less student debt. better educated workforce earning more in pay and paying more in taxes.

“nothing better than an excess of trained workers to drive down wages even more than they are now.”

you’ve uncovered my plan to raise the wages of untrained workers:)

if I were president I would

    1. instituted free college

    2. enact a financial transactions tax to raise hundreds of billions of dollars.

    3. have a massive infrastructure/stimulus program

The politicians would hate it though, because an educated populous would realize how empty the political rhetoric is on both sides.

God Forbid We all Understand How Payments are Calculated With an Interest Rate and Principle

We can’t have educated folks in the market; many will invest and retire early like I’m going to do….without sinking all their life blood in a house. But just sell the house and pay your capital gains taxes and use the rest for your retirement…..LOL….you only get what the escrow papers say when the ink is dry. It may be a lot less than you paid, especially with the qualified rental tenants drying up.

Climate change seems to remain largely a political issue, where your thoughts on it tend to fall along conservative/liberal lines, rather than scientific analysis. But I was watching a Nova recently where the carbon output is affecting the Ph for the seas, and the ability of various creatures to live and reproduce. While there may be some question as to whether climate change is man-made, I don’t think there would be any question that this change is man-made.

Has anyone seen much on that topic? Disrupting the food chain could have much bigger effects than rising sea levels.

I Heard a 40% Drop in Bees Recently

Without bees, we don’t eat. They blame manmade pollutants on killing off bees. The dinosaurs went extinct, mankind is next?

    Foreclosures Increased 50% Nationally

Oregon was hit hard, and bear in mind that the foreclosures number in thousands, a small percentage of the existing homes. But listed for purchase is a small percentage of homes out there too, it numbers thousands too….

Study: Each new immigrant creates 1.2 new jobs
    http://www.vox.com/2015/5/21/8635771/immigrants-create-jobs

If you just forget about the world “immigration” and think about “a place that lots of people are moving to,” I think it’s obvious that for most people with most sets of skills “a place that lots of people are moving to” is a place with more job opportunities (you could teach their kids or clean their houses or cure them when they’re sick or fix their electricity) than “a place that nobody wants to move to.”

It’s because the DOJ is scouring the site with searches looking for evidence of antitrust violations. ;-)
