Well Google is making a lot of money! But how? Tim, did Google cut your eCPM? Probably, soon they get free advertising on your site and you don't get squat. If it's me, I am taking my balls and go home. I'll find local vendors to advertising exclusi…

Portfolio devaluation is one problem, but the root cause is levarage. 20 to 1 leverage make margin call a serious liquidity problem.

So how's TNX doing? Rate cut is suppose to help people getting loans at lower rate right? Quick, jump on those ARM!

Stimulus plan may lead to higher mortgage rates http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080125/bs_ ... 9e5SUG1vAI

Time will tell. After the stimulus package annoucement, TNX went up. Today with the news that the Senate possibly opposing, the rate went down a little.

Why? You guys think this will help housing market in Seattle? The bond market doesn't agree. It's up 6% in one day. The credit market set interest rate, not the Fed. Wait and see...

I am not saying we are going to be like Japan, but take a look at 1990 to 2003. That's 13 years. Today we are at the 1987 level. http://chart.finance.yahoo.com/c/my/_/_n225 What happen to them? Banks holding bad debts and government lowering i…

You are not making sense! Your 401k drop 10% in a few weeks and you are worry about inflation? Everyone has to learn to manage their money. Remember nasdaq in 2000? Well 7 years later some still down 50%, and might never recover. Something to consid…

More to come, traders are pricing for 50 more points in 9 days. Total of 125 points. Hoohoo, staying in cash seem like a good idea now! PS: My 401k fund does not have a pure short term treasuries options to select, even MM are tainted with MBS.
-
Gotto tell you guys, doesn't look good.
-
If everyone is expecting crash, then it probably wouldn't happen, you never know. There might still be time for bounce and you should get out then. My 401k is in MM and that still worries me, but not much choice there and I don't want to quit my job.

Well I was in a training all day and didn't get to sell anything today. I ate some CFC loses and roll them over to July 7.50 puts. My bet is they don't survive pass 3rd quarter, either that or BAC walk from the deal on some excuses. By third quart…

Looks like I might be giving some money back to Modzillo. Should've seen that coming, the number of calls mysteriously spike all morning..oh well...

$5.47! I picked up a few puts for BK plays, I was late to the party and still make some money.
-
Back to report that I am all out on Friday. Sold a bunch of puts. I am all cash this weekend, as you can imagine, I can't stop smiling. I am going to take the wife and kid out for a nice dinner. Now if next week we bounce due to the 50 point cu…

Now Bush is talking about cutting taxes to provide economy stimulus package. What a nut case! Our economy is "solid and strong", "mission accomplished".
-
Sounds to me like if your loan was packaged and sold as CDOs somewhere you are probably shit out of luck. Banks might work something out if it's still "held for investment". If you have more than 3% LTV, the bank would just foreclose if you can't…

You should do some research and see any unit sold recently to check the comp. Then you lowball him 30%.

I shorted CFC so much I am going to need a bailout soon. My portfolio is red and I would like the brokerage to give them back to me. Today I add more to my position, double or nothing.

Here's a great blog. I got a few chuckles out of it. http://market-ticker.denninger.net/2007 ... riday.html

Diana got punked, she obviously does not understand what "hedging" means. Look, if your house price goes up, and your puts is losing money, that's good. It's designed to do that because you are paying to protect your investment in the house with the…

Seth hits it again. Paulson's Plan to Punish the Public http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2 ... ublic.aspx Seth Jayson November 30, 2007 If you don't learn from the past ... If the mortgage crisis and housing bubble have taught us on…

Casey, aren't you glad you didn't short CFC? 11.22 after bailout news today. By the way, I just added more Puts, I am doubling down. I don't get to go to Vegas anyway. Either way I can't afford a house.

According to WSJ: "Treasury officials say financial institutions are likely to set criteria that divide subprime borrowers into three groups: those who can continue to make their payments even if rates rise, those who can't afford their mortgages…

Is this guy serious? Last I check, I pay gas and food with dollar bills, may be he thought we just bartered them? Last I checked, everything is imported! "Still, increases in the prices of food, imported goods and energy products may raise infla…

Oh well, it's 401k. I sure as heck not going to put it into company stocks. There's not much you can do really.
-
The CFC saga continue, market is flat and CFC is up 0.42 as of now, simply because they paid BAC dividend. LOL. I didn't know making payment to loansharks in a death spiral financing is a good news. This game is rigged I tell you.

I just moved them all out to retire money market yesterday, going to stay put until this shitstorm is over. I am up roughly 10% so far, so I am going to wait. Yeah there's really not much you can do. You can quit your job and rollover to IRA.
